Hello lovelies!

Ah I've been so rubbish at posting what I conjure up in my head recently. Do you ever have that, where you've got some fab ideas for posts but they just don't seem to actually work when it comes to writing them..

Anyway, since we're reaching the end of November (scary) it's time for my InstaNovember post! If you want to rewind and see October's click here.

Quick round up, this month started off fab, then went completely poop, then was great, then average, then good again. Lol, detailed I know!

I picked these photos to sum up the month because they're definitely my happiest moments, I had such a wonderful day visiting the Shard, and having quite possibly the tasitest sausage and chips from Borough Market ever.

I've also seen so many of my friends this month, I choo choo trained upto Birmingham with Connie to see Chrystal and Lucy, saw Jack shopping, hung out with Alex, and of course Jimmy. I've definitely filled up my spare time with fun things this last month! Ooh, and I went and saw fireworks with all my besties, who I love lots ♥

Ah, I do wonder if everything else is going to change so dramatically this December, we shall see!

Helix Piercing Update

Hello my lovelies!

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you may remember my post back in August, where I spoke about my new helix piercing. I was so happy to get this done, and am still glad I did. At that point in time I hadn't really had any problems. However, since then it's been up and down. Let me tell you what happened!

Okay, so I wrote that post in August, and everything was hunky dory. Literally, in my eyes it couldn't have gone better. However, in mid-September I caught my piercing and it started a shed load of problems.

People who know me know that I like wearing rings. In fact I love them. Now, since my piercing was still delicate, I was sleeping with my hand as a barrier between my piercing and the pillow. Yet one night in September, I forgot to take my rings off before bed, and I somehow got my piercing stuck in my ring (yes, I don't know how I did it either) and pulled my hand away. Not realizing they were attached.

This brought lots of tears, literally it was so painful. Worse than getting it pierced to begin with. It was bleeding too and got a little swollen. Not fun. To be honest I was more annoyed that I had just undone a month's worth of healing.

After this, it was painful for a week or two, and once I'd caught it once I just seemed to catch it on everything. Then, it was getting super hot, and I got an infection for about a week which was fun. Luckily it wasn't too serious, and I got this to go by doing regular salt water rinses. (I should point out I was using salt water rinses and Claire's cleaning solution on a daily basis anyway).

Once the infection was gone, it finally started to calm down a bit. During October it was really up and down, some days it would bleed, it was very crusty (sorry for details) and I noticed I had piercing bumps. Woohoo! Not.

Piercing bumps occur either if it was pierced badly (it wasn't, we all know that from my last post) or if there's basically some kind of trauma to the piercing. Hmm, yup, I think my basically yanking it out of my ear might have something to do with it! I have a small bump at the front and back of my piercing, and they are very small so barely noticeable, but they do bug me, so I'm currently looking into what the best methods are to get rid of them without causing any more problems. I don't want to aggravate my piercing any more, ever!

Apart from that, in the last three weeks or so I've noticed a real difference. Firstly, it no longer hurts, yay! I can also move the little bar freely backwards and forwards, no pain, or swelling, which is nice. My ear actually looks better. For the majority of September and October my ear was always red, that has now thankfully calmed down completely. I do still get crusty bits but this is perfectly normal to happen during the healing process.

I have now reached the three month mark, which is in theory when I'm allowed to swap over the piercing, however since two of those months have been months where my ear wasn't very happy, I'm going to leave it until at least Christmas before I change it. I want it to be properly healed before I start messing around with it.

I'm still eager to get more piercings in the future, and was thinking about getting them done in the new year, but again, I think I'll just have to play it by ear (pardon the pun) and wait until my ear has completely settled down.

And the moral of this story is, don't wear rings to bed kids!

Visiting the Shard

Hello my lovelies!

Last weekend I took a trip to the Shard in London, and wanted to share my experience with you!

On Saturday, it was a beautiful day, marking the 1st November 2014. It was my Dad's birthday so we decided to celebrate and visit the Shard, and take in the spectacular views of London. The weather was perfect.

I really enjoyed the experience, and it was well worth the money. You could literally see for miles, and I could see both where I work, and basically my house from the top, which was pretty awesome. All in all we spent about an hour on the viewing platforms and I loved every second. I've heard some people really don't like the height, and it is a little daunting, but honestly it's doesn't feel too much like you're on the edge so to speak, so if you're afraid of heights I'd still give it a go.

One thing which I wasn't please with was going through security on the way in. It's basically the exact same system as airport security, which is fine. It's not fine however when the security woman drops your camera. On to the very hard floor. Yep. Thanks for that! I did have a little sob but we won't talk about that.

The camera is fine.. sort of. It's been playing up recently anyway, and this was like the icing on the cake to make me decide it's time to save up for another one...

In the gift shop I bought some goodies too, they have a really nice guide book and a super duper cool pen. Yes, I am aware I sound about six years old - but it's a cool pen okay? They also had a penny machine, where you get a penny squashed and it has a image embossed onto it. I collect these so it made me a very happy Becca.

Afterwards, we went for a walk around Borough Market, which I loved. It was so busy and my god the smell of food was amazing. I was already hungry but this made my stomach need food. There were so many choices, but I couldn't resist sausage and chips. They were literally the best I've ever taken. I shall be going back. I shall.

We sat by a beautiful church to eat, looking over at the Shard, and it was quite frankly, lovely. Saturday was such a nice day, after all the excitement in the day time, I went to a fireworks display in the evening, and finished the whole day off with the pub. Fab.

Hello again my lovelies!

Well, October.. hasn't it been a month! I think October has bought with it the biggest change in my life for a long, long time. Some highs, some lows, but all in all, it wasn't too bad you know!

First up, a sideways selfie. Hmm. Okay, basically, this was my attempt at trying to capture the new lighting in my room (what a thrilling life I lead) due to the brand new fairy lights I bought. On one side of the room wrapped around a mirror I have blueish fairy lights, and now wrapped around my bed I have golden ones. My room is ever so cosy.

It's slightly cropped in this collage, but the top middle photo quotes 'Love what you do'. I think this has been something I've tried to remember this month, as I've definitely had some ups and downs, and not known where my head is at in some decisions. All I can say, is you have to experience the lows to appreciate the highs.

Halloween face! Okay, so this will fully be revealed, (unless you saw another sneak peak in a previous post) TOMORROW! I had so much fun decorating my face a couple weeks ago in preparation for Halloween. I've tried to in the past, and it turns out looking like utter crap, this time, it actually turned out okay...ish.

The woods. I've actually got two photos of the woods in this collage, so I'll talk about them both at once. (I usually don't go into this much detail in these insta posts, but hey, I feel like a chat) Due to me starting work, it has meant that my free time is now a whole lot more precious to me, which has meant that Jim and I have been making more of an effort to go out and do things. He's the boyf if you were wondering, (bottom left pic). We don't wanna spend heaps of money on fancy dates or anything, we just want to do stuff, that's nice, and isn't cooped up indoors watching telly. So I have really enjoyed getting outside most of the weekends of October and doing something different.

Okay, jumping to bottom mid, and bottom right, cake and work. At work, there was one special day when I got cake. Now, this may seem like a really little thing, but, um, did you read and see that right, CAKE. When I had cake at work, it suddenly struck me that it had been absolutely ages since I'd had cake. I mean months. So this was a highlight. Then to the selfie, that was taken on my first day of work when I got home, and my happy face proves that the working life isn't all that bad. Despite the lack of layins :')

And finally, my happy little face in the centre. I've got a lot whirring around my brain at the moment, a shed load of worries, a whole lot of doubt about things, and just general anxiety about things I've never dealt with before. However, from this face, it seems that obviously something, somewhere in my life, is making me happy, and is going right. So, I'm just gonna look on the bright side.

There you have it, a slightly more detailed Insta post than I usually do, buy why not? Hope you enjoyed!

It's that time of month again! Time for my Insta roundup!

September has gone SO fast and I can't quite believe it's already over. To sit here and think that a whole month ago I was living it up in Turkey, enjoying 38 degrees and blazing sunshine, well, it makes me very sad.

September has certainly been an interesting month. Starting on such a high, then half my friends leaving for uni, and well, getting used to the fact that I will never be back at school. *gulp*

Some of these photos do overlap with my 100 happy days challenge, but there are a few that don't. Wow, I'm really stating the obvious here aren't I? Anyway, have a nosey at my best bits from September!

What have you been up to during September?

Hey hey hey lovelies!

It's the end of the month again and that means one thing, it's time for my roundup of Instagram. If you don't already follow me, check out my profile here. I've picked out all my favourite snaps from August, so enjoy!

August has absolutely whizzed past, and I'm not too happy about it. A lot of things are changing for me in September, and I'm kind of dreading it, so for August to be ending is not a good thing! However, despite that I have had some good times this last month.

The Holi One Festival is definitely one of the highlights of the month for me. I spent the day with a lot of my friends and the whole event was a great laugh. You can see me enjoying it with my bestie Niamh (top left) and the main stage (bottom right).

I've also taken some selfies this month, nothing new there then! This month I got my full fringe cut back in. I loved it at first but it hasn't turned out the same way I had it cut the first time back in May, and I think for the colder months I'm going to grow my side fringe back in. Hurry up and grow hair!

I've also stumbled across some beauty products I love this month, the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer I purchased in the paler colour had become my go to quick lip product. The colour is so great and summery and it's so quick to apply. I'm also in love with the lip liners I bought, they're a seriously good purchase.

And finally, I've wearing my new moonstone ring every day. I am in love and it goes with everything. Eeep. It's been quite a pretty month looking back at these pictures. I can't wait to take more this September. Hope you enjoyed the post!

Lip Liners & Eyebrow Care

Hello lovely humans. Today I am writing a little review type thing on some lip pencils I purchased, and an eyebrow definer I'm using at the mo. In my last post you will have seen me getting excited over some new lipsticks I bought recently. However, since I have been expanding my lipstick collection, I noticed I was missing something quite important. Lip liners! I only had one red one, which is great when I wear my red lipstick, but what about the other shades I have? I had to make another trip to Boots. Sorry not sorry.

Okay so let's just stop and appreciate how amazingly gorgeous these colours are. I am in love! I went for the Maybelline Colour Sensational lip liners because unless I've been blind while in Boots, I found that they had the widest range of colours, and actually had the colours I felt I needed. I also trust the brand as I have a couple of lipsticks from this range too, and I really like them, so it kinda felt like an obvious purchase.

I picked these colours because, as already mentioned, they're beauts, and also because I feel like now I can pretty much match them up to all the colours I have/will buy. I've already got a red one, so that's got bright reds sorted. Sweet Pink 132 will be perfect for pale pinks and nude shades. I think it's such a cute colour and it's actually made me think I need to invest in some more paler shades.

Intense Pink, 140 is perfect for slightly darker pinks, and I've actually mixed it with Kate Moss's matte lipstick in shade 107, to create a deep pinky red. I knew I liked the colour when I bought it, but it wasn't until I got home that I realised just how much I like it. Seriously. The first time I used it I didn't even bother with lipstick as this turned out to be basically the perfect and most flattering colour ever. I just popped on some Lip Cote and job done. This lip liner is already getting a lot of use and I'm so happy I bought it.

Finally, Midnight Plum 338 is what I was looking for when I decided I need some lip liners. A lot of my darker lip colours have a plum undertone, and honestly this complements them so well, and is nice and dark but not over the top. I now feel like my lips look a lot more complete when I wear darker shades, and ahh I'm so happy! I'm sorry I'm getting so excited over a few lip liners but as a newbie to the lip world, I'm excited okay? :D

The texture of all of these lip liners is great. They're all quite soft, but not so much you have to sharpen them every five minutes. They're also super pigmented which is fab, I hate liners where you have to go back and fourth over the same area, only for a minuscule amount of colour to come out. These are so easy to use and effortless in that sense. I also quite like the packaging. I mean, to be honest, you can't really package lip liners differently can you, but still, they're nice.

Next up, brows:

We all know eyebrows frame the face, so it's important that they look right. I recently invested in a simple brow pencil from Collection, which is good, but I had a few problems with it. The texture is super soft, and it requires sharpening all the time, which isn't a huge issue, just more annoying more than anything. The main problem though was the colour, I just felt it was a little too dark. Now, this could be because when I got it my hair was freshly dyed, and therefore super dark, so it looked fine. But now my hair has faded to my natural brown shade, which is not dramatically different, by my brows were looking a little odd. So I picked up this little thang.

I was a bit worried about buying it, because as you can see, it's blonde. However I have read around and it's apparently better to go lighter rather than darker, and after using it, I can see why. This isn't a pencil, but a definer, ooh fancy word ;) I really like the fact it's not a pencil, as that means no sharpening! Just twist and boom you can use it. The colour is more of a light brown than blonde, and when on my brows it just blends in and looks right, rather than odd. I can only really say good about this product, the only thing I'm a little peeved about it how little of the product there actually is. I twisted it up all the way out of curiousty, and was kinda disappointed to see there isn't that much product, however, it was really cheap so I suppose I can't complain. Despite this, I'll probably be buying again as I know it works.

Well, that just about rounds up this post, hopefully I've given you some options if you're thinking of buying any lip liners or brow products, and I hope you enjoyed reading.

Kate Moss Lipstick Review

Hello lovelies!

Over the last few months I've gone from zero to hero with my lipsticks. Well okay maybe not hero but I've certainly increased my measly lipstick collection from about 2 (which were horrid and old if I'm honest) to a nice little bunch of high street brands. I've seen so many people raving about the Kate Moss collection with Rimmel, I had to have a go, and oh yes, I am very happy with my purchases!

I just want to say, I had so much fun photographing these, but was terrified the wind was going to blow and they'd fall and get ruined. Thankfully that didn't happen!

Okay so first up, price, at only £5.49 each, these are a bargain! I am on a tight budget at the moment so I'm always on the look out for products which I can afford but work really well. These fit that criteria extremely well. I went for the matte shades of the range, as I much prefer this style, and didn't actually own any matte lipsticks. Gotta start somewhere ey! I was drawn to shade 107 because I already have a bright red, but this is a little darker, and as I grow my collection I'm finding I'm more drawn to the darker shades. In my head they suit me a little better. It's so lovely and deep and I think it has an ever so slight plum undertone. In other words, I love it. It's great if I want to make a statement without being too in your face, and I did just that in my last insta post. This lipstick be used often, and I may need to purchase another when I have some money to keep in my bag at all times!

Also, I'm not having a dig at people who do swatches on their arm or wherever, but for lipsticks especially I don't find that helpful at all. Our lips are a pinky shade, I want to know how the colour is going to look there, not on regular skin. Anyone else or just me?

Okay, next up shade 101. As I said, I'm currently leaning more towards darker shades as I build up a collection, but I thought, Becca, it's the middle of summer, brighten up a bit! This shade does just that, it's a really cute pink shade and can be worn on a daily basis so easily, with little maintenance. The texture of both these products are lovely, they're feel quite creamy on the lips, and considering they're a matte formula, they actually feel incredibly moisturising to be honest. You can build the colour up more if you want to with extra layers, but they have pretty good pigmentation as it is. Shade 101 is quite a cool tone, and I really think you could work this all year around. Especially if it was snowing. Can you imagine if it snows? Ah I hope it snows!

I feel like I made good purchases here, I've got something for nights out and the winter months, and a more everyday shade which makes me look a little more summery. I'd honestly recommend these so much, especially if you like a matte shade as they're so affordable. I purchased mine from one of my visits to Boots (which are becoming more and more frequent, not helping my bank account at all!).

Do you have any bargain matte lipsticks you love? Let me know as I want to try out some hidden gems!

Thanks for reading as always :D

Hey there my lovelies, do you know I really didn't realize it was August today and how quickly July has whizzed by! It feels like summer should only just be starting and it's like woah nope moving on other things to do! I've been pretty busy, if you read my latest post you would have seen I was enjoying my holiday in France. Oh it was lovely and I'm now super sad it was a month ago. Like what. But, the times are changing and I've been a busy bee, and it sounds like I'm only going to get busier from now on. Not sure how I feel about this, part of me is still clinging onto school life and childhood I suppose. I was also kinda shocked to see how inactive I've been this last month on Instagram :O That will not be happening from now on, I am telling you! I've also been pretty busy clearing out and redecorating my room. Tough work but hopefully once it's done I can show you the finished room.

Despite not being too active this month on Instagram, I'm gonna share what I do have anyway, after all it's my little tradition on this blog :)

Hope you enjoy!

This month marks a really great period of time this year. I woke up absolutely stunning surroundings whilst in France, and discovered a love for the ukulele. I also apparently like salads now. Not even joking they've gone from least favourite food to way up there in my all time faves. So scrummy! I also toyed with the idea of getting a new piercing, and went through with it! Woohoo! Lovely Niamh was also very brave and got a tattoo, I'm sure we will here about that soon so keep your eyes peeled! I on the hand was a complete wuss when having my helix pierced, but I am so glad I got it done, and already want more! Woops :')

Thank you for reading as always, and if this is your first time reading, or you've visited my blog before, I'm only small but I appreciate it SO much. Starting this blog is by far the best decision I made this year, and has opened a few doors for me. Thanks again!

Lipcote Review feat. MUA Luxe Lip Lacquer

Hello my lovelies! Hope you're having a good week so far, it's nearly over and the weekend is finally in sight! Today I wanted to do a little review post, as I've recently fallen in love with lipsticks which is an area of beauty I never really cared much for before. It's all changed now!

I've chosen to review Lipcote because I'd never heard of it until recently and was hoping that would end all my lip product woes, including them rubbing off, smudging, or ending up on my teeth. Delightful!

Lipcote Lipstick Sealer

I picked up Lipcote in my local Boots store, and was pleasantly surprised that it cost just over £3. I'm certainly not made of money currently so any bargains I manage to find automatically go down well in my book!

Lipcote Bottle

The Lipcote comes in this clear bottle with a similar style brush applicator to a nail varnish. It is very easy to apply, you simply apply which ever lipstick or colour you wish to use as normal, blot with a tissue and repeat. Next up, apply an even coat of Lipcote all over your lovely lippy and slightly over the edges, wait to dry and done!

To test Lipcote, I decided to use MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in the colour reckless. I've had this for about a month now, and really love the colour and the matte finish, however it's not as long lasting and kiss proof as I'd like. Usually when I wear this it lasts a couple of hours and everything except the outer edge of my lips has disappeared. Perfect Lipcote candidate me thinks!

I applied as normal, blotting away, and then brushed on the invisible Lipcote. I had heard from some other reviews that it can sting, but to be honest any tingling sensation only lasted a few seconds. You have to keep your lips from touching while it dries (around 30 seconds) and this wasn't too hard. To me if felt the same way as when you apply a face mask and then try wiggling your face - you know when it feels like it's cracking? I'm not sure if this is a good thing but once it's fully dry this feeling completely disappears.

How long does it last?
Well after MUA's natural staying power only really being until you drink/eat something, or just generally do anything, after an about an hour it's gone. This was not the case with Lipcote, I'm pleased to tell you. Not long after I applied Lipcote, I had a little feast.. woops, including Doritos and salsa dip. Sometimes you just have to! I had some water too, and full well expected all my lippy to be gone. It wasn't! My lips were still red, there was some fading, and the edges definitely weren't as crisp anymore, appearing a little smudged, but there was still so much product on my lips compared to normal.

I checked again a few hours later, and some more product had disappeared, it looked like how I described the effects without Lipcote. However, that was a good 4 or 5 hours later!

Why I love it:

  • Can be used over the top of any of your favourite lippys!
  • Very affordable
  • Easy to apply
  • Fairly long lasting
  • Invisible
  • Perfect size for your makeup bag
  • Minty flavour (although you shouldn't really be tasting this while it's drying or it won't work!)

Why I don't love it as much:

  • Slightly odd smell upon application (only lasts a few minutes)
  • Can feel slightly odd tingling/cracking sensation as it dries
  • Brush doesn't stay clean - turns the colour of your lippy

Overall, I would definitely recommend the product. For me, although it definitely doesn't last all day, it increases the staying time by at least double for me, which can only be a good thing. I also love how it now gives me the option to apply some lipstick, go for a meal, and be safe in the knowledge that it will still be there afterwards. I will definitely be using all of this product whenever I apply my lippy now, can't really see any reason not to!

I hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading!

Hay fever Rescue Kit

Hello lovelies, hope you're having a good weekend!

We've had some lovely weather lately here in England, with warm sunny days and blue sky, which in England is pretty rare, not that I'm complaining. However, for some of us, all this nice weather brings hay fever. Oh, what joys.

I honestly hate hay fever and have suffered with it for nearly 10 years now (I feel old), and it's always around this time of year it becomes such a burden and can actually make you feel quite down. The good weather comes, and you have to make the choice of going outside and enjoying it, but suffering from a sniffly nose and itchy eyes, or staying inside moping. Woop.

Although I haven't actually been able to go out very much recently due to revision, hay fever has really affected me this year and my symptoms have been at an all-time high, making my skin suffer.

Some of you reading this might well suffer from hay fever too, so I thought I'd share what I've been using to get me through so I can hopefully provide you with some helpful ideas to make the whole thing a little more bearable!

First up, I'll get the slightly more boring stuff out the way, ever since I've had hay fever I've taken medication for it, just a tablet a day of antihistamines (obviously consult your doctor before taking any medication) and these certainly help to some degree. However, I always find especially if I even brush past my eye for a second I can set off crazy itchiness, so this season I've also used some other products.

I've started using Allercrom eye drops, these have really helped! My eyes are always the biggest giveaway when I'm suffering from hay fever, people always ask, what's wrong with your eyes? Are you crying? Why are your eyes red? It gets very repetitive, but these are the first eye drops I've used which have really made a difference, stopped all itchiness quickly and actually reduced redness.
Allercrom Eye Drops

I also suffer from lots and lots of sneezing, which is great fun, but I've found this nasal spray really helps to stop you having quite as many sneezing fits. If you had to pick one or the other though, I'd definitely chose the eye drops as you can really feel them working, and for a long time too.
Boots Hayfever Relief Nasal Spray

Next up, products I've been using to treat my skin. When I'm suffering badly with hay fever my skin really takes a battering, it becomes very dry, especially around my nose, and this year near the outer corners of my eyes. I also get puffy eyes with dull looking skin. Not ideal in anyone's books.

Cleanse cleanse cleanse:
When my skin really needs a treat, I always return to Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish. It's so gentle on your skin and glides across so smoothly. It is great for taking off makeup and making your skin feel really clean and refreshed, goodbye dullness! I also find it really hydrating too which is great for any dry patches cropping up.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Now, when my hay fever is really bad and my skin is really dry, I try to exfoliate only twice a week because I don't want to cause any more irritation. I use Liz Earle's Gentle Face Exfoliator, because it is the most gentle exfoliator I've ever used. There's no tingling sensations, no stinging, all you can feel is the tiny jojoba beads doing their job without being harsh on the skin. I love this because it really helps with dryness without making the problem worse, and my dry patches usually clear by the end of the week when I apply it.
Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator

Soothe those eyes:
As I mentioned, my eyes get so red and sore during hay fever season, so I really like to treat them with Liz Earle's Eyebright (bit of a theme here isn't there). I just pour a small amount on a cotton pad and wipe across gently, I LOVE the smell and it's just cooling and I feel it helps to calm my eyes down a little.
Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion

My final step, moisturise, by now, if you're anything like me hopefully you'll be feeling a lot better by now and your skin will already be looking a bit brighter, eyes whiter, and generally less sneezing going on! I finish my simply rubbing in Soap & Glory's 6-in-1 Multiactive Moisture Lotion. It's my favourite moisturiser at the moment and just tops my skin routine off, ready for any make up to be applied. Moisture is key!
Soap & Glory For Daily Youth Moisture Lotion

I know this post has been super wordy and super long, but I feel like some people really brush off hay fever as 'not real' or just making a fuss. It's not, and can really cause you a pain. Hopefully, this post has helped in some way and given you ideas of how to make the most out of the situation. Drop me a comment if you have a specific skin routine for when hay fever strikes, or if you have any other methods of keeping the symptoms at bay!

Thank you for reading as always! Have a fab Sunday :)

If you aren't aware, I have Instagram! I've now decided that at the end of each month I shall show you my favourite Instagram snaps, so that if you don't follow me, or have missed some shots, you can keep up with me and my little blog nice and easily!

Hope you enjoy!
